Occupational Health and Safety

Our Occupational Health and Safety program provides effective, contextualized training for home care workers to reduce workplace injuries and better identify hazards on the job. The program is delivered in a workshop model by peer home care workers who are also trainers. Instruction and materials are available in English, Spanish, Russian and Chinese.

The program includes several core components:

  • Identifying and evaluating workplace hazards and using practical, cost-effective hazard control measures
  • Creating and maintaining practices to create a safe workplace
  • Engaging in learning activities that foster compliance with regulations and prevent workplace accidents, illnesses and injuries
  • Addressing biological, physical and chemical hazards that home care workers face on the job
