Our Citizenship Program provides the education and guidance that 1199SEIU members and their families need to navigate the immigration and naturalization process and become U.S. citizens. Experienced staff assist home care workers from the beginning of the application process until the moment they are sworn in as U.S. citizens. Through free classes and workshops, home care workers improve their English-language skills and knowledge of civics (U.S. history and government) to prepare for the naturalization interview and English/Civics test.
Eligible home care workers are reimbursed $300 of the $725 Citizenship application fee.
