Wayne Young

Wayne Young joined the Funds in 2005. He oversees the Workplace Skills Program, which consists of skills enhancement and health and safety grants, as well as collective bargaining training programs. Wayne is also a Project Coordinator for SEIU, overseeing the SEIU Education and Support Fund’s Susan Harwood Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) grant.

Prior to joining TEF, Wayne was a Union-wide Health and Safety Organizer for 1199SEIU UHWE. In this role, Wayne worked throughout the country, connecting and building relationships with workers, employers and Union staff. Wayne participated in and conducted countless train-the-trainer programs, building front-line workers into health and safety mentors and leaders.

Wayne earned a Master’s degree from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Concordia College.

Wayne is a native New Yorker, who was born and raised in Manhattan. He currently resides in Westchester.
